Convert Office 2007 Documents to Older Office Versions

    By admin | January 28, 2008

One of the humble denizens of The Tech Empire has petitioned me with a dilemma.

My office uses the Office 2007 software package, unfortunately all of
my home computers are still running the old Microsoft Office. So I
have a very hard time taking my work home with me, I’ve looked and
looked for programs to easily allow me to switch between docx and doc
files, but they’re all these online give us the file and we’ll email
you the file that’s decoded or whatever, unfortunately I really don’t
feel comfortable putting out my work stuff onto the internet like
that. So is there an easier way to go from Office 2007 files to the
    older Microsoft Office?
    Thanks
    Jenny D

It’s easy to see how this could become a problem.

    SOLUTION:

Microsoft has been kind enough to provide a compatibility pack for older versions of Office. I’ve made that file available here for download to make it easier for you to find. The installation is a simple process. Download the file, double click on it, then accept the license agreement and click next until the setup completes. After that you will be able to open Office 2007 documents in Office XP.

If installing the entire compatibility pack is too much trouble for you, you can also use the Microsoft DocX Viewer. The installation is much the same, but it doesn’t require that Office be installed.

If you found this to be helpful then please,
