    How to fix Windows Errors

    By TheEmperor | February 21, 2008

There are a host of Windows errors that pop up every day. Many times cleaning spyware/malware off of your machine will result in Windows errors when they malware was infecting a system file. Fortunately many of these issues have the same solution, unfortunately that solution requires your Windows CD or your manufacturers restore CD.

The first thing to try is the System File Checker. So click on Start, Run, and type CMD then press OK. You’ll now see a black window with a blinking prompt in it. Type SFC /SCANNOW and press Enter. Windows will now scan your system and replace any system files it finds a problem with. It may ask for your Windows CD, so have it handy. Once it is finished reboot your system and see if your issue is resolved. If not move on to the next step.

If the System File Checker was unable to fix your issue then a Windows Repair is in order. First insert your Windows CD or your manufacturers recovery CD and reboot your system. When prompted press a key to Boot from the CD. Now choose Install, then accept the agreement. You will now be given a choice to press R to repair windows. After you press R the system will replace all of your system files with the original system files from the CD, but leave your data untouched. This will resolve any Windows system issues you have. It will be necessary to run Windows Update again after the repair completes.

If your issue persists after the Windows Repair then it is not an issue with Windows system files and you will need to look for an alternate solution. I suggest you e-mail me with your issue. If these steps did resolve your problem please
