Who Am I?

A user over on The Forum recently asked if I would post a quick bio up to let people know who I am. Being the benevolent and kind hearted soul that I am I have obliged.
My first computer was a Commodore 64 that my parents had, one of my earliest memories is making it count to 1000 in basic. From there I programmed small games, a couple of different calculator programs, and a few other widgets before moving on to an 8088 pc.
On that much beloved machine we managed to get the Maximus BBS software running and soon with our 2400bps modem we had The Mainline BBS up and running. From there we migrated through a couple of versions of Dos and then picked up a nice 100mhz 486DX and put Windows 3.0 on it. Primarily this allowed us to run more than one DOS window at a time, other than that it was of little use.
By this point I was firmly entrenched in the path to Geekdom and spent long nights tweaking the BBS software, installing games, and experimenting with the software. By the time I got out of highschool I had built my first network using 10baseT.
Being on the front of the Technology curve during the Tech Bubble I was able to grab a decent job in Maryland pretty much right out of highschool (which I later regretted when the bubble burst). I jumped through a couple of different tech jobs from helpdesk to network admin then ended up as a customer service supervisor with Verizon when the tech market collapsed.
After some time with Verizon I managed to break back into the field as a consultant at the company I currently work with. I’ve been here for the last 3 years.
I’m also an avid Martial Artist training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a fan of DnD and CCGs.
And that’s who I am.
